Paving the Way to Positive Futures
The DeKalb County Juvenile Justice Council (JJC) collaborates to develop and implement programs that target the causes of juvenile delinquency. The Council is comprised of representatives from the judicial, education, mental health, social services, legal, and law enforcement communities of DeKalb County. The JJC facilitates community based collaboration, and provides guidance on oversight, research, evaluation of activities, programs, and policies directed towards and impacting the lives of juveniles in the county. The Council works in conjunction with the JJC Coordinator who assists with the implementation of strategies by focusing on grant writing, community and interagency collaboration, coordinating meetings, assisting with data collection, researching programs and interventions, interagency training, and creating programs that are from an evidence-based model.
